Creating a Reference PC for Imaging

After installing Windows XP and the required drivers for the hardware (a Dell Optiplex 755 in this instance,) I installed all the common applications for our organization: Besides updating the OS, I installed the following:

• Office XP
• Outlook 2003
• Adobe Reader & Flash
• Trend Micro OfficeScan
• Latest Microsoft Updates
• VNC

I also customized the default user profile so that any new user gets a similar environment.

In this instance I decided not to use Sysprep.

Take the image and off we go!
